Have a Memory or Story About The Connex List That You Would Like to Share?

What is the history of The Connex List?

When we started our pirate radio show on 91.9 in 1998, we received lots of phone calls from artists who were looking to send us their music to play on our show. We would often be asked if we knew any other shows that offered exposure for artists. So when asked that question, we were always giving out the same contact info to a few other shows. So to make it easier, we started saving the contacts as a word document (labeled: Connex) and we would email but mostly FAX (LOL) the document to artists upon request.

It started out as a 1 page piece of paper that contained contact information for a few various radio shows, video shows, etc and then eventually we started adding more and more contacts to the list, increasing the page size. Each time we added a large amount of content to the list, we would label it as a new volume. The Connex List continued to operate as a black & white packet for many years. It was not until Volume 11 in January of 2003 that The Connex List was resized and transformed to a full color magazine.

With the help of so many who truly loved and believed in The Connex List, we hand-to-hand delivered copies of the magazine out for FREE all over the world. Eventually, we received support from Fat Beats Distribution and were able to increase our reach even further.
